2. Our Services

DIY Solar ME provides solar and energy information, an online savings calculator, and a way to request a consultation. We offer two paths: guided DIY solar, where we provide engineering, permitting, and hands-on guidance while you or your contractor perform the installation, and full-service solar installation, where we handle the project end to end.

Nothing on this Site is an offer to sell a specific system at a specific price. That comes later, in a formal written proposal or contract prepared after a consultation and, typically, a site visit.

3. The Solar Estimate Calculator

Our calculator gives you an estimate based on the information you enter — your energy usage, property characteristics, and preferences — combined with general assumptions about panel production, equipment, and utility rates. Please keep in mind:

• It's informational only. Your estimate is not a quote, contract, or guarantee of price, savings, incentive eligibility, or system performance.
• Real numbers can differ. Actual system design and pricing depend on a site visit, structural and electrical review, permitting, and your utility's interconnection requirements, and may differ from your online estimate.
• Assumptions are adjustable, not guaranteed. Figures like expected production (kWh/kW/year), heating oil price, and propane price are editable assumptions, not guaranteed values for your property.
• Your inputs drive your output. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter — an incorrect address, roof pitch, or energy usage figure will produce an inaccurate estimate.

Incentive programs and utility rules change, and eligibility depends on your specific situation.
